Rite of Spring / Reconstructed

A reconstruction of Stravinsky's Rite of Spring in a contemporary context, exploring the sense of discomfort and alienation as might have been felt in the original performance of 1913, as a lone dancer struggles with the estrangement of the technological age. The fragmented and recomposed score along with the cold, frenetic visuals attempt to overwhelm the human body on stage.

Dancer: Katherine Crockett; Lights: Masha Tsimring; Sound & Projections: Hannah Wasileski
Performed at the Yale School of Drama, New Haven, Connecticut in January 2013
